How to Apply to be a Volunteer Patient

If you are interested in volunteering and you fit the qualifications listed below, please contact Stacie Buckler at 734-647-5597.

Qualifications:

• Have a chronic medical condition that significantly impacts your life on a daily basis
• Can commit to mentor first year medical students for one year
• Have a willingness to share experiences about your illness and life
• Have regular physician visits for treatment of illness (at least 2-3 times per year)
• Live within 30 miles of Ann Arbor
• Willing to complete a criminal records background check

Timeline:

The Doctoring staff will review all applications. Qualified applicants will be contacted for a phone interview. Upon acceptance into the program, you will be notified by the staff and receive information about a Welcome Reception where you will meet your students.
